What is the Australian Subclass 870 Visa?

Australian citizens and permanent residents can sponsor their parents through a temporary visa categorized under Australian sponsored parent visa (subclass 870). This allows the parents to live with their children in Australia up to 10 years

Following conditions must be fulfilled by the person sponsoring their parent for 870 visa:

• You must be an Australian citizen or a permanent resident living in Australia at least for last four years.

• You must have legal evidentiary documentation proving child parent relationship, either biological, adoptive or step-child.

• Your stay of last 4 years must not be illegal or unlawful.

• Other than the bridging visas A, B, or C, you must not have held any other bridging visa in last 4 years.br>
• You must have income statement of AUD 83,454 as a must requirement to show. If you have a spouse/partner, you may show a joint income of same value.

• You must not be in any debt to the Australian government.

Who Can I Sponsor to Australia for the 870 Visa?

You are allowed to sponsor your parents or your partner’s/spouse’s parents (parents-in-law). However, you are not allowed to sponsor both parties simultaneously. one family can only sponsor two parents at a time, for example:

• One or both of your parents, or

• One or both of your parents-in-law, or

• One of your parents and one of your parents-in-law.
